Horizon
2019 We have a few expeditions in mind for 2019 in which we will be creating unique content. All of our options are built upon the experience we have gained together over the past 15 years and are pending on how the snowpack stacks. By building off our previous expeditions we are able to maximize your contributions and get the most out of our pooled resources. Our ideas are pending upon the support we can gather leading up to them. Each trip will be documented via professional photography, video edits, story telling, and gear features. All of these missions have been dreams we are building into realities thanks to the collective contributions of sponsors like you.
As a part of a larger brand story for Backcountry Living a lot of this content will be encompassed by a backstory of human connections. We are sharing how the connection between friends (and spouses, family, community) can be the "human factor" that keeps us in check and helps to avoid the errors that end so many lives in the snow community each year. |
Talkeetnas to The Alaska RangeExploring in the Alaska Range has been the highlight of our season for a few years running. A partnership with Matt and Agnes Hage will speak to the extreme connection between spouses as backcountry partners. We will be exploring a rare Alaskan hut system in the Talketna range and then flying into a glacier in the Alaska range. The quality of riding is legendary for good reason and each year we get more and more successful climbing and riding in this incredible place; building our knowledge and keeping us coming back. This will be a unique story about the connection between touring partners while riding some beautiful Alaskan lines. We will also be adapting the piece as an article for the Alaskan department of tourism.
The Rubys - Deep Creeks - and The Great Basin These tricky desert ranges are a gem to behold when conditions are prime. Although we have spent a decent amount of time in both the Rudy range and the Deep Creek range we are excited to go back and link the Great Basin into this trip. With the help of snowmobiles we will make our way deep into these ranges to ride remote couloirs in the Rubies, the longest lines in Utah in the Deep Creeks, and among the ancient bristle cone pines and crumbling peaks of the Great Basin.
SawtoothsYurt trips to the sawtooths are a classic way to get into the range of couloirs. We have been to the Williams before and plan to spend even more time in the riding these classic lines in the coming season.

AndesSouth America has always been a destination high on our to do list. It seems to be finally falling into place for summer 2019. We would be exploring in a backpack to split board camping style. This involves a lot of travel logistics in getting gear to South America and into these vast mountains and so having the help of some of our local friends will be key to success. By incorporating the experience of our South American friends and the knowledge of our sponsors with the drive we have to explore this range we are excited to see what an expedition in the Andes is like. Wind Rivers to Yellowstone, WyomingThe vast distance of getting into Wyoming's most remote ranges keeps the average explorer away in the winter. The continental snowpack tends to hold weak layers that make avalanche conditions tricky to navigate. With our successful spring mission as the first splitboarders into ride Mt. Hooker or even enter Grave country in the winter, we are excited to go a back. Our decade of experience exploring this range helps us over come the hurdle that the extra distance of snowcovered roads brings. Late next spring we will be backpacking deep inside with our boards to ride the currently unridden/unskiied in the Wind River Range.
Ski - Bike - ClimbThere is no place better for a multi sport trip then southern Utah. Not only do you ride, bike, climb- we plan to ride incredible big lines, bike world renowned trails, and then climb some of the most iconic sandstone towers.

Canadian RockeisGrowing up in a community of snowboarders we have always held a respect for Craig Kelly. We are getting our truck camper ready to drive the "Powder Highway" and explore in his "footprints" from Mt. Baker north towards Baldface and around the Rodgers pass area. A hut system has potential to be linked as well as hauling our gear into base camp to follow in a few of, what might have been, Craig's routes. We are shooting for early spring to give the snow pack time to heal. As we come back into the US we will seek out ascents of various Cascade volcanoes and strive to ride classic and unique lines off these beautiful summits all while celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Wrangell St. EliasThe wrangles are home to some of the most massive mountains on earth. Although the himalaya are much higher; the vertical relief of these peaks rival most. We have been invited by Alaskan native Brad Lewis (volcano man) to fly into this range by a private pilot friend of his and set up a base camp that will allow access to these truly incredible lines. This trip would use all of the skill sets we have been polishing over the course of our careers and provide a huge learning experience we are sure.
TetonsWith years of exploration in the park, we have an unfinished lure to go back to the Tetons each season. Especially as we have made our first climb up the Grand this summer. This year we have multiple friends living in Jackson, making quick trips up there when conditions are supreme, simple.

Open to the unknown
We strive to keep open minds and open hearts as we follow our passion of exploring the rarely seen corners of our world on snowboards. It is with this mission we share our stories with others and intend to inspire them to follow their hearts as well. We know that unforeseen assignments come into our lives for a purpose and we are staying open to these opportunities. It is the gratitude and love we have for these wild places that compels us to expand our horizons. We hope these stories translate into the gear we use and others feel compelled to obtain that gear for their adventures. We wouldn't be able to succeed as much as we do with out the exquisite quality and support from our amazing sponsors. Thank You!
