Beard Moutnain- Tetons, Idaho
01-02-2012
The dry bleak start to the winter of 2011 left a lot to be desired. With no snow for a month and none in the foreseeable future, the news of one foot in the Tetons sent us charging north.
The dry spell from the month before had left some rotten, weak snow under the precious freshies. This was more prominent on the east face. The danger warning was fresh on our conscience; Zach had been swept off a cliff and carried down Glory the day before. (but thats an entirely different story)
With a ripe crew of 6 we climbed. Our first stop being a nicely positioned yurt on the ridge. With tons to see we lingered only a short time and continued with what would become an enjoyable 12 hours of fresh adventure. Due to a lack of snowmobile we skinned from town.
